Join us at Syon House and gardens to explore, learn and connect with nature during a 2 hour Forest School session. Led by a qualified level 3 Forest School practitioner Syon Saplings is a great way to introduce and strengthen your child's love of the natural world through fun filled activities with children of a similar age.
Through child led learning the group will explore and connect with each other and the wonderful wild world all around them.
With a healthy dose of exploration no one session will be the same!
Our holistic approach to child development means that through storytelling, natural crafts, games and exploration we offer all the resources your child needs to grow in confidence, self esteem and develop physically, emotionally, creatively and socially.
The group is suitable for children aged 2.5 to 5 years. We work at a 1:4, adult to child ratio, up to a maximum of 12 children.
You can make a booking enquiry by emailing scott@redbeardforestschool.co.uk or by using the contact form on the website.
We are amazingly lucky to have access to the whole of Syon house and gardens, including areas not open to the public!
This historic landscape offers an enormous amount of exploration and learning opportunities.
From marshes, woodlands, streams, trout lakes and formal gardens, to the grand conservatory and house itself we will be thoroughly immersed in this historic landscape.
Parents and carers can park for free in Syon carpark located opposite the garden centre. The group will be dropped off and collected outside the main gates to the house where a member of the team will be waiting to greet you.

Syon Saplings will take place during term time every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Groups are booked on a termly basis and limited to 12 spaces per group.
We are out and about in all weathers so one of the most important things is that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Whilst we have multiple areas within Syon to get out of the rain, such as the grand conservatory or Syon house itself, the importance for children to be able to explore the natural world in all its wondrous weather can not be overstated.
We will send you information on what we recommend your child wears and are always on hand to answer any questions.
Children will also need to bring a small backpack that contains a snack, water bottle and a change of clothes.
Absolutely!
If it will help your child feel more secure or represents something that interests them feel free to pack it! We aim to enhance, develop and introduce things that will spark wonder in your child and can tailor group sessions to make sure they are best suited to your child's particular needs.
This is a drop off session as they are designed to help your child build resilience and confidence and set them up for whatever the next step is in their learning and development journey.
We have a dedicated team that knows just how hard it can be for both the child and parent to separate and have a lot of experience settling children into new environments. They will always be on hand to answer any questions and will keep you informed of your child's progress.
No-one knows your child as well as you, so if you have any advice on what works best for them in a new environment the team would love to hear from you.
Sessions are £15 each and are booked and paid in term time blocks.
